This section is dedicated to sourdough recipes.  There will be some tips and hints for dealing with sourdough starters, some links to other sites of interest and various recipes that have worked for me.

Sourdough purists believe that you don't add baker's yeast to your sourdough at all, not even to get your starter up and running.  The only yeast that's present in the starter are natural and airbourne yeasts that occur on the grain and are introduced by exposure to the atmosphere.

Making sourdough from scratch and growing your own starter is a long process - be prepared to spend some frustrating weeks and months experimenting.  It is up to you whether you want to follow the purist mantra or you want to see result more quicly.  Here are some web sites for further reading:
