Gingernuts

A recipe handed down from Nana Gordon.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tab butter
  • 200mls cugar
  • 2 tab golden syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 des powdered ginger (1/2 tsp spice 7 + 1 tsp cinnamon as an alternative)

Method:

  1. cream butter and sugar
  2. fold in other ingredients
  3. drop in rough heaps on a lined tray
  4. cook in moderate oven until browned
